WHY DID AMAZON CHANGE THEIR LOGO

Amazon is one of the third largest companies in the world. The company's overall worth is 1.6 trillion dollars. So having a logo that “represents Adolf Hitlers mustache” won’t leave a good impression towards amazon. The controversy between the logos were interesting. Previously said the logo resembled Hitler’s mustache. The logo is supposed to be a jagged piece of scotch tape and a box with the old iconic smiley face. But it doesn't look like that. The logo was brought to the public in January 2021. A lot of individuals ere questioning the new logo. One individual tweeted “My parents use amazon nearly everyday they are going to be lost for a couple of days, when they ask where amazon has gone.” A lot of people were completely horrified from the logo that they won’t even shop at amazon anymore. Hitler’s face isn’t a good representation to the company at all. After the fact Amazon changed their logo to a folded piece of scotch tape. The logo was changed on February Twenty-Second. The new logo is only brought to the app and not the website. But many people are still not happy with the logo, “still looks like a happy hitler face”. This is the first drastic change that amazon has had for nearly 5 years. Amazon’s response to this issue was “is always exploring new ways to delight our customers. We designed the new icon to spark anticipation, excitement, and joy when customers start their shopping journey on their phone, just as they do when they see our boxes on their doorstep.” Changing the logo on the app also causes confusion. Going from the old white and black shopping cart logo to the brown and blue logo might have caused confusion to the customers. Online shopping has been important during the pandemic. So the changing of the logo could have an impact on the people that took offense to the logo. Or even the confusion on the new app logo could have impacted the customers that were shopping on the app. In some individuals' opinions, Amazon should have tweeted out changing the logo to let the customers know of the changes and also putting out a picture of the logo before it was sent to the app. As Amazon has been one of the biggest companies in the world, they are going to listen to their customers. Even if it involves changing a logo. Amazon did a great job and listened to their customers to change the controversial logo, before there was a larger impact on the company. Besides the logo, Amazon has been doing an excellent job during the pandemic. Getting the orders to the customers doorstep on time. Achieving the smiley face “logo” by putting smiles on their faces.
