Superbowl Showdown

The road to the Superbowl has been riddled with upsets, strong plays, and fairly predictable results.


Now that we have the two final teams looking to match up in the Super Bowl, here is how the rest of the playoffs went, from beginning to the end. We have seen the Steelers and Titans lose in the first round after very promising regular season performances, the favorites to win the Super Bowl were none other than the Chiefs and the Packers and we will take a look at how they did, and some of the teams that tried to make a surprising finish to their seasons.


During the first round of the playoffs, in the AFC, The Colts, Steelers, and Titans, all take early exits, and in the NFC, The Bears, Seahawks, and Football Team, also ended their season last weekend. Now that only four teams were left, The Chiefs and The Bills in the AFC, and the Buccaneers and Packers matchup in the NFC. To the surprise of no one, The Chiefs were the favorite in the AFC, however, the possibility of having their star quarterback was in Jeopardy due to a concussion he endured in the game against The Browns. In the NFC, The Packers were the favorite to win with their electric offense, along with their MVP caliber quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, and their Pro-Bowl Wide-Receiver DaVante Adams. The Bills, and Stefon Diggs were hoping to dethrone the Chiefs and take them out of the playoffs , The Bills were on a hot streak prior to their matchup against the Chiefs, defeating The Colts along with their brick wall defense, The Bills then went along defeating the red hot Ravens and Lamar Jackson. With the Bills on an 8-game win streak they had the best chance at defeating the title defending Chiefs. In the NFC, The Buccaneers, led by future Hall of Famer Tom Brady have been rolling as well, beating the Saints in the Divisional Round giving the Buccaneers their first NFC Championship game since 2002.


The favorites to win these matchups are the Chiefs and Packers, with both of their star strutting offense’s, it’s going to be hard defeating them. After a wild weekend of football, we have our two final teams that will match up against each other in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs pulled away with the win, defeating The Bills in convincing fashion, 38-24, whereas in the NFC, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pulled off the upset, defeating The Packers, 31-26 which ended in a tight one late. Tom Brady yet again proves everyone wrong, as he will return to the Superbowl for the 9th time at the age of 43. On the other hand, Patrick Mahomes leads the Chiefs to their second straight superbowl appearance. Many people are calling this game “The Passing of the Torch” from one great quarterback to another. People believe that if Tom Brady and The Bucs lose the game, it’s time for Patrick Mahomes to shine as the face of the league, and take Tom Brady’s spot. Brady, who has a lot of experience in the Super Bowl, says that he has been “anticipating this matchup from the start.” The experts over at ESPN, predict that Patrick Mahomes will lead the way to victory for back to back Super Bowl wins. ESPN predicts The Chiefs have a 52% chance of winning the big game.

As fans everywhere wait restlessly for February 7th, predictions on who will win, will continue to circulate. Football fans, this Superbowl is one for the ages, I wouldn’t miss it.
