A lagoon tucked back in the middle of Iceland is opening in February 2022
A new lagoon in Iceland is projected to open late February or early March 2022. The Forest Lagoon or also called Skógarböð Geothermal Spa will let tourists swim in large pools filled with natural hot water from the Vaolaheioi mountain above. The spa features a pool that is 5,700 sq feet bigger than a football field, two in-water bars, a sauna, a quiet room, and a locker room for guests. There will also be charging stations for bikes and cars. As well as a restaurant that will serve classic food and beverages. Tickets are available for the new attraction. Tickets start at $45 per person. Plus a $1,000 flight and sitting In a plane for 7 hours is fun….but besides that many visitors will be coming to the
northern part of Iceland due to this lagoon. It’s older brother “Blue Lagoon” which opened in 1992 is a very big tourist attraction for outsiders. The prices to the Blue Lagoon are more ex
pensive. The Blue Lagoon offers a 62 room luxury hotel, 2 restaurants, a spa, and a mineral rich lagoon. The Forest Lagoon offers a little more. A lot of people go to the blue lagoon because it is believed to be a healing place. Due to all the upcoming pools and hot springs they believe that the Blue Lagoon is going to get outranked. Due to the The Forest Lagoon is more tucked away in the back of nature and brings more scenic views. But it is also just a few minutes away from Akureyri town which will attract more insiders. The Blue Lagoon and Forest Lagoon are the same thing but 2 different locations even though the Blue Lagoon covers more than the Forest Lagoon but the Blue Lagoon becomes too crowded since it’s in the main part of Iceland. While the Forest Lagoon is more “alone” in it’s own little forest.
